The FIFA World Championship Qualifying game was not exactly the biggest spectacle I had expected, particularly since my last FIFA qualifier game was between Norway and Germany last fall, which was, mildly said, loud. Usually doesn't help the focus when there's several groups of obnoxiously loud and repetitive supporters spread throughout the crowd (one is somehow right behind you! - remember to schedule an appointment with the ear doctor after the 500 horn blast!!), but yesterday had more of the really amusing crowd oh's, boos and cheers. Sound wise, loads of fun!

The game itself was usual enough. Ended in a tie of 1-1. Though there was a huge

load

of

falls.

The medical team definitely got in some field time as they rushed out several times to check up on the players. It mostly seemed like some variety of bruising, but the spectacle for something worse was definitely there. Probably helped that football players are "known" to be primadonnas to aid the circus of it all as audience members gasped or cheered as various players went down.

Some of the Norwegian team members while the Norwegian national anthem was playing.

I always enjoy seeing the more backstage aspects of any arrangement, since you don't always see the full picture - or even focus on it - during the TV viewing or are in the crowd.

Audience members are always fun to follow, particularly looking through the mix of feelings and reactions in a crowd. Sort of a less complicated "Where's Waldo?".

VOMF!

Haitam Aleesami swoops in with a surprise attack!

... or at least surprise to me, since I'm not focused on the world outside where the lens is pointing.

To finish off, here's a small moment I hope amuses you. (focus on the Czech player :P)
